Using a mixed-methods approach, this paper will analyze the difference between the two systems and explore factors contributing to the difference. The findings from this study will contribute to a better understanding of the mental health challenges faced by Chinese high school students and inform strategies to promote their well-being. In addition, the study will shed light on the potential benefits and drawbacks of the different educational systems, and help stakeholders make informed decisions about educational policies.
