Oil has always been an important political and strategic resource in a country. In recent times, the significant changes in the international situation and the mergers and acquisitions of American oil giants have intensified the changes in the oil industry, directly leading to fluctuations in American oil stock prices. Therefore, this article collects financial data from Occidental Petroleum Corporation in recent years and conducts comparative analysis to explore the development prospects of Occidental Petroleum Corporation and some changes in the petroleum industry. Research has found that Occidental Petroleum Corporation has good development prospects based on its own oil production capacity and environmentally friendly technology development, and its stock price may experience a significant increase. In addition, various macro factors such as the Russia Ukraine war and changes in the international situation may lead to a shock to the US oil industry and make a decrease in overall profits for it.
