Abstract

High-quality development and environmental and ecological issues are the core issues of current economic and social development in China. While pursuing high-quality economic development, the increasingly severe reality of environmental and ecological problems cannot be ignored. Under this background, the development of carbon finance is of great significance to China. Based on the background of the new development concept, this paper constructs a high-quality development measurement index system of carbon finance with five dimensions and 20 secondary indicators, and uses the entropy method to determine the weight and comprehensive level index to further analyze the high-quality development level of carbon finance in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan and southwest Chongqing from 2016 to 2021. The research shows that Chongqing has a high overall score from 2016 to 2021, and the development quality of carbon finance is high, showing a steady upward trend. The development level of high-quality carbon finance in Guizhou is low, and there is a lack of coordinated development among the provinces. Based on the calculated results and analysis, the paper puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the high-quality development of carbon finance in the four southwest provinces.
