The Development and Characteristics of Folk Songs in Northern Shaanxi Province

China is a country with a vast territory, and in the process of social and economic development, the folk culture and national culture of China are also developing and innovating. And in this context, in the process of social as well as cultural development of various regions of China, influenced by local culture as well as customs, artistic styles with regional characteristics have been formed. As far as the northern Shaanxi region is concerned, the simple folk customs and enthusiastic residents in the region have formed the northern Shaanxi folk songs with northern Shaanxi characteristics in the process of cultural development and inheritance, among which the love songs take up a large portion of the proportion, expressing the desire of northern Shaanxi residents for happiness. This paper takes the northern Shaanxi folk songs as the research direction, analyzes and discusses the development and characteristics of the northern Shaanxi folk songs, so as to deepen the concrete understanding and grasp the profound connotation of the northern Shaanxi folk songs.
