Abstract

The main purpose of critical discourse analysis is to reveal the implicit relationship among discourse, ideology and rights. Based on Halliday’s systemic functional grammar, this paper will conduct a critical discourse analysis of the news reports about China in Boao and Davos forums by many news media. This article aims to explore the different standpoints and intentions conveyed by these news media and stimulate readers’ awareness of critical thinking in news reports.
