Abstract

Translation teaching under the ideological and political background of the curriculum is to cultivate students' family and country feelings, cultural self-confidence, and an important path to spread China's excellent cultural elements, ideological value system, and enhance international discourse power. On the basis of imparting translation knowledge and cultivating translation ability, college English translation teaching should actively cultivate Chinese-English bilingual translators with high intercultural communicative competence and good language and cultural literacy. From this point of view, it is necessary to realize the effective integration of ideological and political curriculum into college English translation teaching. Therefore, educators in colleges and universities must attach importance to the reform of English translation teaching, and actively explore reform strategies to improve students' comprehensive quality and level as a whole. Based on this background, this paper discusses the existing problems of English translation teaching in colleges and universities, and studies the advantages and strategies of English translation teaching reform from the perspective of curriculum ideology and politics.
