Darcy & Roy Press

Publication Process

Overview

Darcy & Roy Press journals and conference proceedings follow a consistent editorial workflow designed to ensure the quality, integrity, and timeliness of published research. The process comprises five stages: pre-check, peer review, revision, acceptance, and production.

1. Pre-check

Upon submission, the editorial office conducts a preliminary assessment to verify that the manuscript falls within the scope of the journal or conference and meets basic quality and formatting expectations. Manuscripts that fail this stage are returned to the authors without external review.

2. Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the pre-check are assigned to an editor, who invites at least two independent experts to evaluate the work. DRP journals operate a single-blind review model, in which reviewers know the identity of the authors but not vice versa. Reviewers assess originality, methodological rigour, significance, and clarity.

3. Revision

Based on reviewer comments, the editor may request major or minor revisions. Authors are expected to revise the manuscript and submit a point-by-point response explaining how each comment has been addressed.

4. Acceptance

After reviewing the revised manuscript and the authors’ responses, the editor issues a final decision. Accepted manuscripts proceed to production; manuscripts that still require substantial changes may be rejected or returned for further revision.

5. Production

Accepted manuscripts undergo copy-editing, typesetting, and proofreading. A DOI is assigned, and the article is published online. Darcy & Roy Press operates a continuous publication model: articles are published as soon as they are ready, without waiting for a specific issue date.
