The Impact of Pension Insurance on The Mental Health of Elderly Populations--A Comparative Study of Urban and Rural Areas

With the rapid development of China's economy and social changes, mental health has become an important public health problem and a prominent social problem. This paper focuses on the influencing factors of pension insurance on the mental health of the elderly. Using the data of CHARLS 2020, a multiple regression model with interactive effects is constructed, and a conclusion is drawn that the positive impact of pension insurance on the mental health of the elderly is more obvious in rural areas, and this impact may be achieved through improving diet and socialization.
