Marginal Man to the World —— Research on Zechen Xu's Novels

Abstract

This study describes and refines the theme of “marginal people going to the World” in Zechen Xu's novel. It analyzes the artistic characteristics of the novel including its Idealism, narrative mode of returning to the hometown, and language style to demonstrate the author's care for the marginalized groups in the process of urbanization. It also reveals modern people's imagination of faraway places and the unknown from the unique perspective of "Going to the World".
