Abstract

This article decides to study the impact of anti-Semitism on the mental health of Jewish college students in the UK and USA. By using a literature review, it found the ultimate psychological effects of discrimination, including a series of mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, and social isolation. The findings highlight the urgent need for targeted mental health support. The Jewish students suffer the pressure from the public which increases the likelihood of threat and underlines the necessity of fostering a more inclusive environment for those students being affected. The rise of anti-Semitism, both online and in real life, has become a commonplace that acts as an increasingly concerning issue worldwide. Jewish college students, as members of a religious and ethnic minority group, may be particularly vulnerable to this form of discrimination. The Cognitive difference is produced due to individual religion and has provided extra challenges to Jewish students. College is often a challenging period for students, marked by academic pressures, social transitions, and the development of personal identity. Experiences of anti-Semitism play an important role which may cause these stresses and contribute to the development of mental health problems. While much research has been conducted on general college student mental health, there is limited literature that specifically addresses the mental health impacts of anti-Semitism on Jewish college students. After having a general read of articles about stigma and mental problems such as anxiety, the relationship between anti-semitism and mental health can be analyzed.
