Taking Financial management major of Modern College of Northwest University as an example, this paper studies the basic situation of promoting teaching and reform through virtual simulation competition, and finds some problems such as low participation of teachers and students, limited digital ability of teachers, long cycle from competition to reform, and inflexible revision of training program. It is suggested to establish and motivate the mechanism, strengthen the training of teachers' digital ability, strengthen the construction of virtual simulation laboratory and establish the mechanism of revising the training program with The Times.
