The Application of Learning Motivation Theory in English Teaching in Junior High School in China

On the basis of summarizing the definition and classification of learning motivation and analyzing the characteristics of English learning motivation of junior middle school students in China, explore the specific application of learning motivation theory in English teaching in junior middle school. Foreign language learning motivation can be divided into overall motivation, situational motivation, task motivation and comprehensive motivation. The English learning of junior high school students in China is mainly about task motivation, instrumental motivation and external motivation, but the overall motivation, comprehensive motivation and intrinsic motivation also exist in some students. Teachers should fully stimulate the internal motivation of junior high school students' English learning, give full play to the positive role of instrumental motivation and external motivation, and combine the characteristics of the physical and mental development of junior high school students as far as possible to cultivate the sustainability of their English learning.
