With the rapid economic development in China, there has been an increasing emergence of new urban communities. However, these communities commonly exhibit a pattern of residents' indifference to community affairs, low sense of belonging and identity, and insufficient interpersonal communication, where neighborhoods are merely perceived as residential spaces after work hours. This phenomenon is primarily attributable to the deficiency in social capital within modern communities, characterized by weak human-to-human connections, limited community-individual linkages, and underdeveloped interpersonal networks. This study employs the grounded theory research methodology, conducting in-depth community fieldwork to analyze the influencing factors and mechanism processes affecting the formation and development of social capital in urban communities. The findings aim to offer theoretical and practical references for fostering social capital in community development.
