Outlook of the Architectural Design Major in Higher Vocational Education in Shenzhen

This paper explores the development direction of the architectural design major in vocational education in Shenzhen, in the context of the transformation of China's construction industry towards the stock market and the rapid advancement of new urbanization. It discusses the advantages and development trends of the construction industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Shenzhen. The paper first outlines the ongoing technical evolution of the construction industry towards digitalization, intelligence, and sustainability. It also identifies the development characteristics of enterprises, such as diversification, branding, regionalization, and specialization. Secondly, it clarifies that Shenzhen's construction industry will continue to develop in hot areas such as urban renewal, rural revitalization, and historical preservation. Lastly, the paper proposes development suggestions, including exploring multi-path specialized training mechanisms, developing vocational undergraduate and associate degree programs in parallel, and emphasizing the characteristics of the program closely aligned with market demands, to enhance graduates' employment competitiveness, thereby achieving sustainable and high-quality development of the vocational education architectural design major in Shenzhen.
