Abstract

On October 19, 2025, the 11th Annual Conference of the Music Critics Association of the Chinese Musicians Association and the 2nd China Music Criticism Excellence Selection Activity were grandly held at the Sanhao Campus of Shenyang Conservatory of Music. Scholars attending the conference conducted in-depth exchanges around core themes including the construction of the "Three Major Systems" and discourse innovation in music criticism, the writing paradigms and practical paths of music reviews and book reviews, the commentary on diversified music phenomena and analysis of practical cases, as well as the training, inheritance and innovation of music criticism talents. The theoretical reflections, practical cases and problem awareness presented in some speeches have pointed out the direction for breaking the dependence on Western theories and constructing a discourse system with Chinese characteristics in music criticism in the new era. It is conducive to continuously exerting the leading and guiding role of music criticism in music practice, talent cultivation and the aesthetic concepts of the general public.
