Abstract

As an important means of promoting friendly exchanges between nations, sports have received a great deal of attention both at home and abroad. However, in a world where sports have joined the trend of globalization that is now on the rise, the dominant position of Western sports calls for the internationalization of traditional Chinese sports. Based on the methods of field investigation and literature research, this paper presents an in-depth analysis of the problems encountered in the internationalization of Chinese sports focusing on Phoenix boat race in Guangyuan city, Sichuan province. It proposes implementable strategies for the development of traditional sports and the international exchange and promotion of Chinese culture.
