Abstract

At present, the GPS navigation, positioning and timing (PNT) capability has become the cornerstone of the US national critical infrastructure and joint warfare capability. The GPS system is further building a more resilient, redundant and secure integrated architecture. This paper analyzes the modernization process and technical characteristics of GPS, focuses on the development status and trends of navigation countermeasure capabilities in the space segment, ground segment and user segment of GPS, and finally summarizes and prospects the modernization process and navigation countermeasure capabilities of GPS.
