Abstract

Artistry is one of the foundational attributes of translation aesthetics. In literary translation, the criteria for assessing the quality of a translation cannot be confined merely to the dimensions of linguistic accuracy and fluency. The literary beauty in literary works encompasses both formal and non-formal sensibility, among these, the non-formal aesthetic aspects are particularly adept at revealing the deeper meanings of the work and the genuine emotions the author intends to convey through it. Therefore, reproducing the literary beauty of the original text becomes a paramount task in translation. This paper takes Shallows as the research text and explores translation strategies for reproducing the beauty of artistic conception from the perspective of translation aesthetics.
