Traditional patterns of the She ethnic group embody profound cultural symbolism and distinctive artistic value, offering considerable potential for innovative application in contemporary ceramic decoration. This study begins by examining the cultural connotations and formal attributes of She patterns and, in response to evolving trends in modern ceramic art, investigates strategies for their contemporary design translation. The findings reveal that She patterns are characterized by thematic diversity, intricate structures, and auspicious symbolism, reflecting the group’s unique aesthetic philosophy. In the current design landscape, consumers increasingly seek cultural resonance and creative expression in ceramic products. By employing techniques such as motif extraction, formal abstraction, and compositional reconstruction, traditional She patterns can be reinterpreted to suit modern visual and functional sensibilities. This process not only facilitates the revitalization and transmission of intangible cultural heritage but also fosters the integration of ethnic visual language within the broader framework of contemporary ceramic design.
