The Impact of Data Assets on Corporate Supply Chain Resilience: Based on the Mediating Role of Information Asymmetry

With the continuous advancement of the Digital China initiative, data assets have become one of the core assets of enterprises and an important driver for improving corporate supply chain resilience. Using data of Chinese A-share listed firms from 2012 to 2024, this paper empirically examines the impact of data assets on supply chain resilience and its mechanism. The results show that: (1) Data assets can significantly enhance corporate supply chain resilience. A 1% increase in the scale of data assets is associated with a 0.064% improvement in supply chain resilience; (2) The mediating effect test reveals that data assets improve supply chain resilience by reducing information asymmetry; (3) Heterogeneity analysis indicates that the marginal contribution of data assets to supply chain resilience is more significant in highly competitive markets. These findings deepen the understanding of data assets and provide theoretical references and empirical evidence for enhancing corporate supply chain resilience.
