Abstract

This study addresses the significant yet understudied quantitative modeling of casualties in the Battle of Iwo Jima by integrating historical data with predictive frameworks like the Lanchester Model. By analyzing terrain, tactical strategy, and force interactions, we created a precise mathematical model to represent personnel losses. This approach yields valuable insights into the battle's dynamics, enhancing our understanding of historical and strategic military factors. The research advances the study of military history and the application of mathematical models in conflict analysis by refining battle unit usage and identifying critical warfare determinants.
