Exploring the influencing factors of the digital economy plays an important role in the development of Liaoning Province. Therefore, this paper proposes a research model for the influencing factors of the digital economy based on principal component analysis. Firstly, the indicators of the influencing factors of the digital economy in Liaoning Province are constructed. Secondly, Pearson correlation analysis is used to select the indicators. Finally, principal component analysis is used to reduce the dimensionality of the 14 indicators into 2 principal components, and it is identified that per capita GDP, R&D expenditure, and the number of Internet broadband access users at the end of the year are key factors influencing the development of the digital economy in Liaoning Province.
