Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a central topic in marketing research and practice. Firms now use algorithms, predictive analytics, and large-scale data processing to match messages to consumers with greater precision. These tools help teams personalize content, time outreach, and control spend. The growing volume of digital interactions and consumer data has made AI a practical requirement for many companies that compete online. AI also shapes strategic choices: how brands position themselves, how journeys are designed, and how channels connect. The rise of AI, however, brings new challenges. Consumers question how data are collected and how models make decisions. Managers must weigh automated insight against human judgment, especially when systems operate at scale. This paper reviews five studies to evaluate how AI supports marketing strategy. The analysis identifies clear benefits—greater efficiency, stronger personalization, and faster adaptation—and it also notes limits such as bias and over-reliance on automation. The main conclusion is direct: AI strengthens outcomes when it is integrated with firm strategy, sound data governance, and ethical safeguards; without that foundation, the same tools can erode trust and long-term value.
