Abstract

This study focuses on the supporting and substituting roles of artificial intelligence in the field of education, delving into their application and impact in education. Through the research of examples such as intelligent tutoring systems and artificial intelligence writing tools, it reveals the differences in capabilities, limitations, and influences on education between the two. The study finds that supporting role artificial intelligence can provide personalized learning support, helping students improve their autonomous learning abilities; while substituting role artificial intelligence can enhance efficiency, but lacks in creativity and emotional understanding. In the future, the role of artificial intelligence in education will develop towards deeper integration, intelligence, and personalization, while also needing to address challenges such as data privacy and security, and ethical and moral issues.
