Abstract

The aim of this paper is to summarize the mechanism of phenotypic transformation of microglia and to explore the impact of pathological changes in Alzheimer's disease (AD) on its phenotypic regulation, with a view to providing new targets for the treatment of the disease. Recent studies have shown that microglia phenotype is highly dynamic, continuous and plastic, breaking through the limitations of the traditional M1/M2 dichotomy and laying the foundation for a deeper understanding of the AD process. By reviewing the literature related to therapeutic targets of recent hotspot studies, this paper proposes that modulation of microglia phenotype can delay the progression of AD, which provides a possible direction for realizing precision targeted therapy.
