Application of Comprehensive Nursing Intervention in Elderly Patients with Post-stroke Epilepsy

Objective To investigate the efficacy of comprehensive nursing intervention in elderly patients with post-stroke epilepsy. Methods A total of 2,025 elderly patients with post-stroke epilepsy admitted to our hospital from January 2025 to December 2025 were selected. Randomly, 7 8 patients were divided into two groups: the comprehensive nursing group (intervention group, n=39) and the conventional nursing group (control group, n=39). The control group received conventional neurological nursing, while the intervention group received comprehensive nursing. Evaluation indicators included the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Activities of Daily Living (ADL) scores, Mini-Attitude Scale (MAS) scores, hospitalization duration, patient satisfaction rate, and clinical efficacy before and 3 months after intervention. Results After intervention, the NIHSS scores in the intervention group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The ADL scores and MAS scores in the intervention group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Compared with baseline values, the NIHSS scores in the intervention group were lower after intervention, while the ADL scores and MAS scores were higher after intervention, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05); hospitalization days in the intervention group (15.79± 2.4 8) Less than the control group (21.9 2± 2 .4.0), with statistically significant differences (P<0.0 5); the satisfaction rate in the intervention group (89.75%) was higher than that in the control group (69.23%), with statistically significant differences (P<0.05); the improvement in seizure frequency and duration in the intervention group was superior to that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion: Comprehensive nursing interventions should be implemented for post-stroke epilepsy to significantly improve clinical efficacy and patient satisfaction.
