With the acceleration of climate change and urbanization, the threat of flash floods to life and property is increasingly significant. Research on early warning methods for flash flood disasters is crucial for enabling timely responses and mitigating disaster losses. This study primarily explores two warning technologies: rainfall early warnings and flood forecast early warnings. Taking a heavy rainfall event in Nanping City, Fujian Province, from 0:00 on June 21, 2023, to 0:00 on June 22, 2023, as an example, it compares and analyzes these two flash flood early warning methods. The results indicate that compared to rainfall warnings, flood forecast warnings can predict flash flood disasters more accurately.
