Abstract

This research aims to look into disclosing the ESG performance of Alibaba Group, a technological company with a leading position in China and to assess the effect of these factors on multiple areas of financial performance. An open question is whether the degree and quality of Alibaba's reporting on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors are correlated with its financial metrics and overall enterprise performance. The impact of a company's ESG rating on corporate value, debt solvency, profitability, operational capacity and growth opportunity is tested by the ESG assessment framework through its influence on investor perception and market sentiment. Research results explain the positive relation between providing complete ESG information on Alibaba and its ability to demonstrate strong, sustainable financial performance, which proves the significance of transparency and environmentally friendly working methods for technology companies.
