With the development of shipping industry, the complexity of traffic and the demand for pilotage service keeps rising. Necessary emergency measures should be taken to avoid the risks in pilotage. In this paper, the research on typical emergency scenarios of pilotage and corresponding countermeasures are carried out. The pilotage scenarios that need emergency measures are divided into four categories: encountering bad weather, steering engine failure, main engine loss of control, encountering collision risk. The characteristics of these pilotage scenarios and the corresponding emergency pilotage measures are discussed in detail. The research shows that when taking emergency measures in the face of the emergency situation in pilotage, the polit shuold fix out the situation and the ship should be guided out of the danger according to the corresponding emergency process. This paper may be helpful to optimize pilots’ handling of various affairs when emergency occurs in pilotage, and provide guarantee for the safe navigation of ships.
