Servos are widely used in aeromodelling and other model sports as a device that receives PWM signals to drive the rudder surface by controlling elements such as the transmission rod. By referring to previous experiences in developing quadruped robots and reviewing relevant books and papers, this essay summarizes the main methods of controlling a servo with a microcontroller. This will help the beginner in rudder control to acquire the relevant knowledge.
