Abstract

As a matter of fact, electron beam therapy is fundamental in cancer treatment, with advantage of precise dose deposition and shallow penetration, making it ideal for targeting superficial tumors in recent years. Accurate modelling of electron beam characteristics is important for safe and effective radiation therapy. On this basis, this research looks at the electron beam depth dose curve, and its behaviour under different field size using EGSnrc (Electron Gamma Shower National Research Council) as well as discusses its validity by compare simulation results with other researchers’ work. According to the analysis, this study has proved the validity of DOSXYZnrc since the simulation data is consistent with the agreed data despite some other unmentioned parameters should be rechosen at the same time. To ensure the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy, accurate electron beam information and dosimetry are indispensable for radiation oncologists and medical physicists. These results shed light on guiding further exploration of electron beam therapy.
