Aiming at the shortcomings of the current field measurement of soil hardness, such as complicated operation and low measurement accuracy, this paper designs a penetrometer for measuring soil hardness. The penetrometer comprises a lifting part, a peripheral windproof part and a control part. It solves the problems of low measurement accuracy, inconvenient carrying in the field, large manpower demand and complicated experimental operation. The experimental efficiency and the accuracy of experimental data are improved.
