Abstract

Extant literature has increased our understanding of specific aspects of digital transformation, but we lack a comprehensive portrait of its nature and implications. Through a review of works at home and abroad, we conclude the meaning of digital transformation from the technical and value dimensions, and then elaborate the concept of digital transformation from the perspective of the strategic change process. The TOE framework is used to analyze the impact of relevant factors on digital transformation in three dimensions: technology, organization and environment. We inductively build a framework of digital transformation basing on the analysis of the connotations and theoretical perspectives of digital transformation. Finally, taking into account the shortcomings of the existing digital transformation literature, we propose relevant research directions on digital transformation.
