Abstract

The dissertation proposal assesses the SCOR model's application in Guangdong Province's fresh food e-commerce sector using a mixed-method approach with data from 420 SMEs. It aims to analyze supply chain management efficiency across key dimensions like planning, procurement, production, distribution, and returns. The study reveals that SMEs are generally satisfied with their supply chain management, despite a surprising finding that supply chain efficiency is universal and balanced among SMEs, regardless of size or financial performance. This challenges the common belief that efficiency is directly linked to business size or financials. The research offers recommendations for stakeholders, including policymakers and managers, to improve supply chain maturity and efficiency. It aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of supply chain practices and inspire further exploration of optimization strategies in the fresh food e-commerce sector in Guangdong and other regions.
