Abstract

This paper investigates the impact of enterprise participation in digital technology standard setting on firms’ new quality productive forces using Chinese A-share listed companies from 2012 to 2025. The results show that enterprise participation in digital technology standard setting significantly enhances firms’ new quality productive forces. Mechanism analysis indicates that this effect is achieved by improving digital innovation capability and digital resource allocation efficiency. Further heterogeneity analysis reveals that the effect is more pronounced among firms participating in industry-level digital technology standards, high-tech firms, and firms with higher levels of data assets.
