The ongoing digitalisation of society has led to a growing disparity between the digitisation of life and the ageing of the population. This has resulted in a significant number of elderly individuals becoming disadvantaged in the digital age. The issue of how to assist the elderly in crossing the "digital divide" has therefore become a crucial concern. In the context of an ageing society and the advent of the post-5G era, it is of practical significance to discuss the regulation of the telecommunication industry in order to eliminate the digital divide of the elderly. This paper proposes corresponding measures from the perspective of telecommunication regulation in the post-5G era to bridge the digital divide for the elderly and provide systematic and scientific support for the promotion of fair social development.
