Amidst the tide of globalization, international understanding education has emerged as a pivotal component of educational reform. This pedagogical approach not only aims to impart knowledge but also strives to cultivate students' intercultural competence and global perspectives. International understanding education encompasses comprehension and reverence for diverse cultures and values. Through this mode of education, students can better adapt to and engage in international exchanges and collaborations within multicultural settings. However, globalization has also introduced novel challenges to the educational system. Barriers in cross-cultural communication during the educational process, the complexity of international cooperation, and conflicts arising from cultural diversity necessitate effective educational reform strategies. Consequently, this discourse will delve into the definition and essence of international understanding education, analyze the challenges confronting education in the context of globalization, and propose targeted educational reform strategies.
