Abstract

This paper delves into the role of family education in shaping children's perceptions of gender roles and gender equality, highlighting the significant influence of parental gender role modeling. Despite existing research on the topic, a notable gap persists in understanding the specific impact of parental modeling on children's gender equality beliefs. The paper argues for the importance of examining the dynamic interplay of parental attitudes and behaviors in fostering gender equality. Through a review of theoretical frameworks and empirical case studies, the paper illuminates how cooperative parenting, engagement with digital media, cultural contexts, and the active involvement of fathers can significantly influence children's gender role attitudes. The findings underscore the necessity for parents to adopt cooperative strategies in child-rearing, actively engage in their children's media consumption, and embrace diverse cultural influences to foster an environment conducive to gender equality.
