Abstract

Eugene Nida’ s Functional Equivalence Theory holds guiding significance for the translation of literary works in different languages. The paper initially introduces the fundamental principles of Eugene Nida’ s Functional Equivalence Theory in lexical, syntactic, textual, and stylistic dimensions, then analyzes its practical rationale in application. Taking The Little Prince as the case, the author analyzes the application of functional equivalence theory in translation through specific lexical, syntactic, and textual strategies in order to gain deeper insight into the practical application of Functional Equivalence Theory in literary translation.
