Study on Cross-cultural Adaptation of Business Expatriates in Chongqing

With the acceleration of globalization, cross-cultural communication has become increasingly common, bringing to the fore challenges arising from cultural differences. Against this backdrop, cross-cultural adaptation has emerged as a critical area of research. Chongqing, as an economic hub and internationalized city in western China, has attracted a large number of foreign business professionals. However, systematic studies focusing on the cross-cultural adaptation of this group in Chongqing remain limited. This study explores the main challenges, influencing factors, and coping strategies faced by foreign business professionals during their cross-cultural adaptation process in Chongqing. By integrating theoretical frameworks with empirical insights, this research aims to provide practical guidance for enhancing cross-cultural adaptation capabilities while supplementing empirical case studies in the Chinese context.
