Abstract

Football teaching is an important part of school physical education, which plays an important role in improving students' physical quality, special skills, cooperative awareness and sports participation ability. Based on the design of football teaching content based on the improvement of students' athletic ability, it should break through the limitations of overemphasis on single technical training in traditional teaching, and organically combine physical fitness, special skills, practical application, teamwork and extracurricular expansion. At present, there are still some problems in football teaching, which affect the comprehensive development of students' football sports ability. Therefore, the design of football teaching content should adhere to the principles of goal-oriented, gradual and hierarchical design, and pay attention to the systematic arrangement of basic physical fitness, basic skills, combination skills, practical application and extracurricular expansion. During the implementation process, teachers can improve students' classroom participation and sports practice ability through strategies such as game teaching methods, classroom organisation optimisation, safety education, in-class connection and multi-evaluation, and promote students to form good sports habits and comprehensive sports literacy in football learning.
