Abstract

Children are the future of a country. No matter in which country, children’s literature plays a very important role. Excellent children’s literature helps to correctly shape children’s outlook on world, life, and value, giving children a good education and a happy and meaningful childhood. However, a good children’s literature can cross national boundaries and circulate in the world. In this case, translation serves as a conduit for the propagation of this type of literature. From the perspective of Skopos theory, this paper takes Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland as an example to explore of children’s literature’s various translation strategies like domestication and foreignization. Through this research, this thesis will explore translational strategies of children’s literature under the instruction of the Skopos theory, further promoting the development of translational theories and practices.
