Abstract

Interpreting is the oral translation of spoken language from one language into another. Short-term memory (STM) plays a pivotal role in the interpreting process. By examining the characteristics of STM in interpreting and using the City Profile of Nanchong City as a case study, this paper explores training strategies for enhancing STM capacity among interpreting learners. The aim is to improve the quality and efficacy of interpreting performance, thereby laying a solid foundation for future interpreting practice.
