Abstract

Against the new English curriculum reform, primary English group cooperation often suffers from low student participation caused by insufficient sense of belonging. Guided by Self-Determination Theory, this paper summarizes four typical classroom problems and constructs a four-dimensional motivational strategy involving grouping, layered tasks, peer interaction and process evaluation. A shopping dialogue case proves that the system can strengthen pupils’ group identity, ease oral anxiety and activate intrinsic learning motivation. This research supplies practical references for primary English cooperative teaching.
