The cultivation of talents in green and low-carbon economy serves the needs of the national "dual carbon" goals and presents an opportunity to reshape the core competitiveness of economics majors. Currently, the cultivation of talents in green and low-carbon economy faces challenges such as insufficient integration of the "dual carbon" concept, limited teaching resource support, weak faculty strength, and irregular qualification certification. Through a case study of the cultivation of talents in green and low-carbon economy in the economics major at Anhui University of Finance and Economics, the results indicate that it is necessary to optimize talent cultivation objectives, strengthen support for green and low-carbon teaching, enhance the construction of green and low-carbon teacher teams, and explore certification methods for green and low-carbon economic talents. The above findings provide valuable references and insights for the reform of talent cultivation in economics majors at local universities.
