Abstract

The important characteristic of modern distance education is to develop various kinds of teaching activities in the network environment. English is the language of the information age. It is the obligation and responsibility of English teachers to construct and perfect English teaching model of network environment by taking advantages of Internet teaching .This thesis mainly discusses the function and characteristics of net—work teaching, the main teaching procedures of long-distance English reading education and the countermeasures that middle school English teachers must take in order to improve the quality of long-distance English reading teaching.
