The rapid evolution of electronic devices towards increased portability and versatility has necessitated the development of new materials and technologies that surpass the capabilities of traditional inorganic materials. Conductive polymers and organic materials have emerged as pivotal components in this transformation, offering unique advantages such as lightweight, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness, thereby addressing the growing demand for innovative energy storage solutions. This paper examines the application of conductive polymers in energy storage, focusing on their electrical conductivity mechanisms, advantages over inorganic materials, and their role in developing flexible batteries and supercapacitors. It discusses strategies to enhance their electrochemical performance and addresses challenges such as energy density, stability, and scalability. The integration with renewable energy sources for sustainable development is also explored. The study underscores the potential of conductive polymers to transform energy storage technologies, contributing to environmental sustainability and technological innovation. Through this analysis, the paper aims to provide insights into overcoming current limitations and future research directions, highlighting the importance of conductive polymers in achieving a sustainable energy future.
