Local applied undergraduate colleges, as an important component of regional economic development, have played an irreplaceable role in serving local economic development. This article takes Guangxi Normal University of Science and Technology as an example to systematically explore how applied undergraduate colleges can enhance their ability to serve the local economy from three aspects: current situation, problems, and countermeasures. Research has shown that strengthening collaborative cooperation with local economies, improving talent training models, and enhancing technological innovation capabilities are key paths for universities to better serve local economic development.
