Design and Optimization of University Public Elective Music Courses in Northern China: A Textual Analysis of Teaching Plans

Public elective music courses in universities are an important component of aesthetic education and play a significant role in cultivating students’ aesthetic awareness. Taking teaching plans for public elective music courses from several universities in northern China as the research materials, this study systematically examines the current state of course design in terms of learning content, teaching methods, and related dimensions. It begins with the background of the identified problems and the significance of the study, and further analyzes existing problems and proposes corresponding improvements. The study aims to draw greater scholarly attention to the design of university public elective music courses and to contribute to improving the teaching quality of such courses in northern China.
