Labor education is an integral part of well-rounded education, a key pathway for the nation to foster virtue and nurture talent, and an effective means of enhancing students’ comprehensive qualities. Against the backdrop of the “Double Reduction” policy, how to leverage the role of labor education in promoting students’ all-round development—in morality, intellect, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor—and how to make labor education a crucial measure for fulfilling the fundamental task of fostering virtue and nurturing talent in the new era have become key concerns for educators. Based on the requirements for elementary school labor education set forth by the “Double Reduction” policy, this paper analyzes the current challenges in elementary school labor education and proposes strategies in areas such as fostering students’ interest in labor, emphasizing home-school collaboration, improving the evaluation system, and enhancing teacher competence, with the aim of providing guidance for the effective implementation of elementary school labor education under the “Double Reduction” policy.
